My Summer so far...

Hey everyone,

Quite a long post for you today!!

I wanted to let you know what a fun summer I have been having this year!! For once, we have had some sun!!

My cousin (referred to as S) and  I decided we were going to have a fun filled "summer holidays" just like we did when we were kids (yes we're in our twenties but who cares!!)

The first weekend our fun filled summer started on 20 July, we trecked to Jesmond Dene to have a picnic.  We thought it was a short walk from the metro but it was in fact miles away and we got lost! We did however come across an empty park so had a go on the slides and the swings hehe!  We still had a hard time finding the entrance of Jesmond Dene so we just entered in a break in the fence.  This was ok until we started to come to points in the path where there were options to take and S started talking about wrong turn!!!  We eventually found the picnic area and after a bit much headed off to the petting corner there was a little grey budgie that I wanted to keep <3  we then grabbed an ice cream and headed home (the beginning of my addiction thanks to S)  except we didn't head home we go got lost...again! luckily a bus came out of knowhere and thankfully dropped us in town so we got a startbucks!

On 21 July S and decided we didn't want to just sit in the house and we'd came across Geocache (let me know if you have given it a go).  Geocache is basically a treasure hunt.   We had a go but were unsuccessful on both attempts so retired to starbucks!! where else.

On the evening of 26th July, S and I headed to see Them Beatles at Wallsend Memorial Hall, see my previous post for more info, it was amazing and would strongly recommend you go see them.  I was on a total high when I left.

I woke up really happy on Saturday 27th because I had such a good time at the Them Beatles show.. To add to my happiness, it's was an absolutely glorious day so S and I decided to head down to the coast, South Shields.  We went to Marine Park first and had a picnic on the grass it was lovely we just lay there and sunbathed and there was a live band on which was fun. After a couple hours we went on the pedalos which as first was really scary but then I started to enjoy it, the scariest was actually getting on to it!!  We then went to the beach and grabbed an ice cream and S had a blue moon flavoured one.  When we got to the beach we had rolly polly races and made sand angels, I didn't care, I just wanted to have fun :D  On the way home I grabbed a bucket and spade as decided we were gonna hit the beach in the morning!   I was quite burnt when I got in and was surprised to see a bit if colour on my legs!!

On Sunday 28th  I woke up, opened my curtains and could have cried...the sun decided to hide away and the rain was on. We decided we just didn't care we were going out anyway! We went to Tynemouth Market first and I resisted buying a vintage bag! How good am I?!? I dragged myself away from temptation and we went and grabbed some lunch at a cute little cafe called Rene's I got a pot of tea and a fruit scone. It was still dull but we headed along the coast and popped into the aquarium.  It was so fun and I really wanted to keep the turtle!!  ooh and we seen Nemo!! after finding nemo, we carried on along the coast, to Cullercoats and had chippys on the beach and played in the sea, made sand castles and climbed the rocks.  We had such a good time.  The best bit was S trying to put her tights on without taking her shorts off... shattered from the sea air, we didn't give up on our walk and carried on to Whitley bay where we played in arcades and sat by the beach with an ice cream.  I had Irn Bru really odd flavour ice cream although S had liquorice flavour!! yak!

Friday 2nd August.  S and I got up early and went camping in Scarborough.  After 3 buses, we eventually arrived at the site.  Fed up, aching and tired we pitched our tent by the coast and it was the windiest day ever!! we were getting so agitated and especially at the gob shite that was pitched next to us given us poxy advice that didn't help.  After a few swear words and bent pegs, our tent was up so we treated ourselves to chippys...again! and an ice cream of course.  Later we went for a shower put our pjs on and watched the sun go down, it was lush.  We just sat and nattered like we always do then had a good laugh looking at the stars.  We made the nicest cups of tea on our little stove and jumped in our sleeping bags tired after our day.  Things however got worse...thunderstorms case and started pouring in our tent and the wind was blowing really badly, we were scared at first but ended up just laughing!! it was so stupid, we chose to sleep in a waterproof bag, on the floor, in the rain?????? the next morning after no sleep we were pleasantly surprised at the bright sky however we had to head home after the one night given everything was drenched!! before we left we had beans and tea on our little stove :)

Saturday 10th August.  We headed to Seaburn beach this week we had a little spy in the charity shops to see if we could get any books and managed find a couple then went and had a plodge in the sea.  This by the way was an amazing cure for my hangover!!! We had a little picnic but the rain started so went to a little cafĂ© for a cuppa! not ready for home yet we headed into shields at tea time and went on the rides and got some chips.

Saturday 17th August. clearly S and I like pain.  We went camping...in scarborough...again and it rained...again.  I have never felt so broken in all my life however we had a good time as usual.  We bough little plastic ponchos from the pound shop and looked like right numptys.  we also go recorders to piss all the people off on the campsite.  The campers kept us up shouting, drinking and spewing so was nice waking them up at 7am with a three blind mice...

Next week it is my birthday so just heading out for some food then the week after that S and I are heading to NYC so keep your eyes peeled for that post as I am sure it will be very fun filled!!

Let me know what you have been up to this summer :)

Them Beatles <3

Hey everyone

Those of you that know me will know that I am Beatles mad, it's my dads fault, my brother and I had no choice growing up! What really got me to totally love the Beatles was seeing 'Them Beatles' play at the Whitley Bay Playhouse back in 2012, they were amazing and I couldn't believe how like them they really were. They sound like them, they dress like them and carry their mannerisms which is brilliant!

When I left the playhouse last year I couldn't wait to book up again for this year! I went on to their Facebook page https://en-gb.facebook.com/thembeatles On Wednesday last week to book the tickets and seen that they were coming to wallsend memorial hall on 26 July! i was so excited and I got on to my cousin and booked tickets straight away!

We walked quite a way to get to the venue, a whole circle in fact...It was right next to the metro station we'd just come from...

We were early to the venue so just sat in the hall where the boys were going to play and had a couple of drinks.  It was really nicely set up inside, there was dance floor and big tables for us to sit at which was great as thought it would be more theatre style.

The lads came on around 8.30 and they were absolute fab, I was singing my heart out and was dancing in my seat, i didn't want to be the first one up to dance! After a few more songs the dance floor filled up so I eventually got up!

The lads had a break and came back on dressed in their Abbey Road gear, they looked great and I was back up again dancing! John Lennon (Clark Gilmour) even sang instant karma, love that song!!

At the end of the show I got my picture took with them and bought a badge of George Harrison ;)  (Craig McGown). I was on such a high after seeing the show it was fab! Got my tickets booked for Whitley Bay in September!

I would recommend that you go and get tickets to see one of their shows near to you as you will have a great night whether you're a Beatles fan or not! check out their website http://www.thembeatles.com/
